What is the #JESUSTENT
We seek to share God's love with the people who attend Bonnaroo. The Jesus Tent is jointly sponsored by the Tennessee Baptist Convention, the Duck River Baptist Association, and a group of local churches. The heart of our ministry is the Jesus Tent, a 40 X 60 tent erected in the midst of the camping, open 24 hours a day during Bonnaroo. The Jesus Tent is located across the road from one of the entrances to the music festival. The tent is staffed by volunteers around the clock from Wednesday evening through Sunday afternoon. Everything we offer in the tent is free. The tent contains a food serving line. Volunteers dispense free water, tea, lemonade, and coffee. There are free snacks: crackers, chips, cookies, pretzels. We have a cooler trailer and a freezer trailer on site. We give away fresh fruit, which is hard to find at Bonnaroo-about 88 cases of apples, oranges, and bananas. At breakfast time there are fresh donuts, oatmeal, and granola bars. We also offer travel size toothpaste, deodorant, soap, toothbrushes, sunscreen, and bandannas donated by area churches. A banner behind the serving line proclaims our mission: "Sharing the Love of God in the name of Jesus." |
